Purpose:

The Missions Team purpose is to fulfill the great commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipling, church planting, and church development.


Specific Responsibilities:

The development and administration of Village Bible Church's  missions program with the missions ministry team under the elder board.


Ministry Opportunities:


We are always looking for hosts to provide housing, meals and fellowship for visiting missionaries.  Come along with us on our next mission trip and be blessed. Call Jane Weston if you are able to  host  a visting missionary or would like to be included in the next mission trip.
VBC is committed to 25% of its operating budget to missions. VBC provides partial monthly support to 34 missionaries in 20 counties. Many of these missionaries are serving in hostile and closed countries where the Gospel cannot be freely shared. Partner with VBC in prayer and support of families and individuals who dedicate their lives to full-time missionary service.

Change Point Pregnancy Care website
In operation for 24 years, Change Point is an independent non-profit organization affiliated with Care-Net and Heartbeat International. Their purpose is to serve families defending the sanctity of human life by educating, equipping and providing services to men, women and children and sharing with them the love of Jesus.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes website
Since 1954, Fellowship of Christian Athletes has touched millions of lives…one heart at a time. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America.  FCA challenges coaches and athletes at the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use their powerful medium to impact the world of Jesus. They do this my equipping and encouraging athletes to make a difference for Christ in their local communities and churches.
Garland County Jail Ministry website
This ministry serves men, women and children from 9 – 90 years of age. Their goal is to preach and teach about Jesus and bring as many as possible into the kingdom of God. They minister for a long as needed to those who have been incarcerated in the Garland County jail system.
Oaklawn Racetrack Chaplaincy 
This ministry’s passion and goal is to bring God into the lives of the approximately 900 persons who care for the 600 – 800 horses in residence at Oaklawn during the 3-month ‘meet’ each year. These workers in the ‘back of the track’ are poorly paid and live in whatever accommodations they can find in and around Oaklawn. Some live in trailers, horse stalls and cheap rented rooms where conditions are crowded to keep costs down. At the end of the 3-month season they move on to the next track, much like itinerant pickers at harvest time.
Potter’s Clay Ministries
Potter’s Clay Ministries provides a safe shelter for women and children in crisis situations. They provide housing for women 18 years of age and older and children of all ages. Women in crises are referred to Potter’s Clay by the police department, hospitals and the court system, as well as by word of mouth. The length of stay depends entirely on the need of each individual. In addition, Potter’s Clay operates a thrift shop that is open 6 days a week. Proceeds from this shop help finance this ministry. Teen Challenge website
Teen Challenge of Arkansas is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to biblically educate men 18 and older with life-controlling problems. This is accomplished through educational programs that are biblically sound and highly structured. Administered by credentialed ministers, these programs give emphasis to the spiritual well being of the student as well as to goal setting, physical work and responsibility, emotional health and stability while providing a caring community of peers. The program is non-medical and non-clinical.
The Witness website 
Volunteers from many denominations and more than 50 area churches present a musical/drama portraying the life of Jesus as witnessed through the eyes of the Apostle Peter with accompanying choirs, cast and crew. Their mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus in order to reach the lost, encourage the Church of Christ and to ‘spotlight’ Jesus.

The ministry is bringing hope and the transformation of Jesus Christ to the children of Central City, New Orleans. In a community riddled with crime, blight, and poverty they are providing safety, stability, and hope. From Bible study to basketball, study hours to summer camp, they are committed to building personal relationships with the young people that come through their gates. Their youth ministry staff has come up through their programs and now embraces the responsibility to shepherd the next generation through the joys and pain of growing up in New Orleans. They love seeing how God moves in the hearts of the youth and call it a privilege to be called to this work.

Greater Europe Mission  Website
Since 1949 God has used GEM to transform the lives of thousands in Europe by training Europeans to reach Europe.  GEM is working to ignite discipleship movements in 50 cities over the next five years (50 in 5) by reproducing disciples of Jesus who make other disciples. To that end, GEM partnered in 2011 with two trainers who had helped spark a movement in South East Asia that grew to more than a million believers in less than a decade. The ministry is focused on reaching young people around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and teaching them how to walk with the Lord.   What we do:
Christian Camps and Conferences – reaching youth and adults. Annually more than 15,000 attend youth camps and more than 25,000 attend conferences at Word of Life facilities in the United States.
Bible Institutes – training young people to find the will of God through studying the Word of God under the teaching of outstanding resident and adjunct professors takes place on campuses in the United States and on six continents around the world.
Local Church Ministries – partnering with more than 800 churches and helping them to establish foundational truths in the lives of young people, this outreach is effective in helping to disciple today's youth. Word of Life sponsored evangelistic events are also integrated to help churches reach unsaved youth in their local area.
